Real Madrid Officially Announces the Signing of Yan Diomande
Real Madrid has officially confirmed the arrival of Ivorian winger Yan Diomande from RB Leipzig after an outstanding Bundesliga campaign. The youngster has signed a contract with the Spanish giants through June 2033.
Real Madrid officially announced the signing of Yan Diomande on Thursday, adding one of European football's brightest young talents to its squad. The Ivorian international joins from RB Leipzig after signing a seven-year contract that will keep him at the Santiago Bernabéu until June 30, 2033.
With the move, Real Madrid continues strengthening its squad ahead of the 2026-27 season by investing in a player who enjoyed a breakout campaign in the Bundesliga and is widely regarded as one of the continent's top young prospects.
From Bundesliga Breakout Star to Real Madrid Signing
Although his breakthrough came in Germany, Yan Diomande was already familiar with Spanish football. The winger made his professional debut with Leganés in March 2025, fittingly against Real Madrid, before earning a move to RB Leipzig during the summer transfer window.

His transition to the Bundesliga was immediate. In his first season with the German club, the Ivorian recorded 12 goals and nine assists in 33 league appearances while also contributing one goal and one assist in the DFB-Pokal.
Those performances earned him the Bundesliga Rookie of the Season award, establishing him as one of the league's most exciting young players and attracting interest from several of Europe's biggest clubs.
A Signing Built for the Present and the Future
Beyond his club success, Diomande also impressed with the Ivory Coast national team during the 2026 FIFA World Cup in the United States, Mexico, and Canada. In his tournament debut against Ecuador, he was named Player of the Match, further demonstrating his ability to perform on football's biggest stage.
The winger becomes Real Madrid's fifth signing of the summer transfer window, following the arrivals of Marc Cucurella, Ibrahima Konaté, Bernardo Silva, and Denzel Dumfries.
At just 19 years old, Yan Diomande now faces the biggest challenge of his career as he joins Real Madrid, where expectations are always at the highest level. The Spanish giants are betting on his enormous potential, hoping he can continue the remarkable rise that made him one of European football's biggest revelations last season.
