Raphinha Starts the Season at Full Speed With Barcelona

Barcelona have quickly found their scoring touch at the start of the 2026-2027 season, and among the players making the biggest impact is Raphinha.

The Catalan side have won their first three LaLiga matches and have scored 12 goals, highlighting the impressive attacking pace they have set from the opening weeks of the campaign. Within that attack, the Brazilian has emerged as one of the biggest threats for opposing defenses.

Raphinha has scored five goals in his first three LaLiga appearances, scoring twice against Elche, adding another brace against Athletic Club, and finding the back of the net again against Rayo Vallecano.

But there is one particular detail that is beginning to give his start to the campaign a historic dimension: Raphinha has scored in each of Barcelona's first three LaLiga matches.

The Streak That Could Put Raphinha Alongside Three Barcelona Greats

According to information published by Mundo Deportivo, this achievement is not entirely new in Barcelona history, although it marks the starting point of a very exclusive list.

Barcelona will face Valencia on September 6, and another goal from the Brazilian would allow him to keep alive a scoring streak that very few players have managed to maintain at the club.

Throughout Barça's history, there are 13 previous examples of players scoring in the first three LaLiga matches. However, once that number increases to four consecutive games from the beginning of a season, the group becomes considerably smaller.

Only Ladislao Kubala, Cayetano Ré and Cesc Fàbregas managed to score in each of the first four matches.

Kubala achieved the feat during the 1953-54 season, scoring eight goals against Real Sociedad, Jaén, Valladolid and Sporting. Ré did it during the 1964-65 campaign, scoring five goals, while Cesc reached the mark during the 2011-12 season, with four goals.

Now, there is another noteworthy detail: the Brazilian already has five goals after just three matches.

The Next Step Leads Directly to César Rodríguez and Ibrahimović

Scoring in four consecutive LaLiga matches would already make Raphinha's start one of the most impressive in recent Barcelona history. But there is an even tougher barrier to overcome: only two players in club history have scored in each of the first five LaLiga matches.

One of them was César Rodríguez, who scored eight goals during the 1950-51 season against Real Sociedad, Atlético de Madrid, Real Madrid, Murcia and Valencia.

The other was Zlatan Ibrahimović, who scored five goals during the 2009-10 campaign against Sporting, Getafe, Atlético de Madrid, Racing and Málaga.

The Swedish striker also made history for another reason: he was the first LaLiga debutant to score in each of Barcelona's first five matches.

Raphinha Is Also Closing In on a Mark Achieved by Messi

So far this century, Lionel Messi is the only Barcelona player to have scored in four consecutive official matches across all competitions from the beginning of a season.

The Argentine achieved the feat during the 2011-12 campaign. He scored in both legs of the Spanish Super Cup against Real Madrid, found the net against Porto in the UEFA Super Cup, and then scored in Barcelona's LaLiga opener against Villarreal.

Messi also enjoyed an outstanding start to the 2012-13 season, scoring in the Spanish Super Cup before finding the net against Real Sociedad and Osasuna in LaLiga.

The upcoming clash with Valencia could therefore become another page in Raphinha's story. A goal would extend his impressive scoring streak and place him alongside some of the biggest names to have worn the Barcelona shirt.
