Mbappé Sends Birthday Wishes to Vinícius Amid Club World Cup Disappointment
The French striker took to social media to wish Vinícius a happy 25th birthday, as the Brazilian faces criticism following Real Madrid’s elimination from the Club World Cup.
Celebration Amid Tough Times
Real Madrid has officially wrapped up its season after being knocked out of the Club World Cup, and while players are now on vacation, that didn’t stop some from sharing warm messages on social media. Vinícius Jr. celebrated his 25th birthday on Friday and received numerous greetings — one of the most notable came from his new teammate, Kylian Mbappé.
The French forward posted an Instagram story featuring a photo of the two celebrating a previous goal together, alongside a heart emoji and birthday symbol. The gesture, though simple, was meaningful for Vinícius, who is under fire after a poor showing in the semifinal against Paris Saint-Germain.

Bellingham Joins the Celebration
Mbappé wasn’t alone in congratulating the Brazilian. Jude Bellingham also shared a message on his Instagram, writing: “Happy birthday, my brother,” highlighting the camaraderie among Real Madrid’s top players.
Still, the mood around Vinícius Jr. has been far from festive. The Brazilian was visibly disappointed following the team’s elimination. As he exited the MetLife Stadium, he tried to avoid the media but was stopped by a FIFA security staff member who directed him back toward the designated exit area.
In contrast, some teammates — including Luka Modrić, who played his final match with Real Madrid — paused to greet fans and acknowledge the press.
Despite the criticism and recent setbacks, Vinícius Jr. continues to receive public support from key figures within the squad. Mbappé’s birthday message not only underscores the developing bond between the two forwards but also suggests a unified dressing room as the club turns its focus toward rebuilding and returning to glory next season.
