Kylian Mbappé does not want to waste any time ahead of another season with Real Madrid. The French forward decided to cut his vacation short by two days and has already reported to Valdebebas to begin working under José Mourinho.

The striker underwent the corresponding medical examinations before joining training, where two of the club's new signings, Marc Cucurella and Ibrahima Konaté, were also present.

Mbappé's decision is particularly significant following his participation with France at the 2026 World Cup. Despite the demanding schedule he faced during the tournament, the forward used his vacation to rest without completely stepping away from his physical preparation.

Mbappé Already Working Under Mourinho

Before returning to Madrid, Mbappé had been training on his own and even worked out at UD Ibiza's facilities alongside his former PSG teammate Achraf Hakimi.

Now, a different stage begins. Mourinho has already had the opportunity to speak with the Frenchman following his return to Valdebebas and expects him to once again become one of the team's main attacking figures during the 2026-27 season.

The goal is for Mbappé to adapt as quickly as possible to the preparation plan designed by the coaching staff and reach the start of official competition in the best possible condition.

Cucurella and Konaté Also Join the Squad

The day was also highlighted by the first training sessions for Cucurella and Konaté. The Spanish left-back arrives as one of the club's key additions after winning the World Cup with Spain.

Meanwhile, Konaté will look to earn a place in Real Madrid's defense after a difficult season with Liverpool and a World Cup in which he did not have the expected role with France.

With these additions, Mourinho continues to welcome players back as preseason progresses. The Portuguese coach is still waiting for Jude Bellingham and Aurélien Tchouaméni to return before having virtually his entire squad available..
