Mbappé Can’t Stop Scoring and Shows His Most Cristiano Ronaldo-Like Version
The Frenchman has netted 33 goals in 37 matches in 2025, and his style now recalls that of Cristiano Ronaldo, with the box as his natural hunting ground.
Mbappé in “CR7 mode”
The start of the season for Kylian Mbappé at Real Madrid has been nothing short of lethal. The French striker bagged a brace against Real Oviedo, confirming he is living his most decisive moment since joining Los Blancos. With these goals, he now has 33 in 37 appearances in 2025, numbers that have drawn comparisons to Cristiano Ronaldo in his prime at the Santiago Bernabéu.
His first strike at the Carlos Tartiere was pure “killer instinct”: a brilliant control and quick finish after an assist from Arda Güler. The second once again showcased his knack for appearing in the key moments. With this performance, Mbappé has now opened the scoring in 13 league matches, breaking through tight defenses and rescuing Real Madrid in complicated games.
Overall, he has 47 goals in a white shirt, surpassing the records of club legend Rafael Martín Vázquez. The comparison with Cristiano Ronaldo is no exaggeration: the Portuguese was the last player to record a similar run back in the 2014-15 season, when he scored in 19 consecutive league games.
Consistency and hunger for goals
The physical and mental transformation of Mbappé is also evident. After losing weight during the World Cup, the Frenchman regained four kilos of muscle and now looks sharper and more explosive in his movements. Xabi Alonso, current Real Madrid manager, emphasized: “He looks stronger, with the confidence of a predator. He has turned the box into his personal hunting ground.”
The numbers also back him up on the international stage. With 47 goals since the start of last season, he ranks among the top scorers in Europe’s top five leagues, just behind Harry Kane, Robert Lewandowski, and Serhou Guirassy. His consistency and ability to deliver in key moments have cemented him as the offensive leader of the team.
The heir to a winning mentality
Although he has not yet equaled Cristiano Ronaldo’s records, Mbappé is moving steadily toward that level. His hunger and relentless mentality have transformed him into the main reference point of the Madrid attack. For the Real Madrid faithful, he is not only a scorer but also a player capable of marking an era, just as the Portuguese superstar once did.
If he maintains this trajectory, Mbappé’s “CR7 mode” could very well become the new benchmark of excellence at the Santiago Bernabéu.
