Sevilla is continuing its efforts to strengthen its attack before the transfer window closes and has once again identified Marc Guiu as a potential target. The Chelsea forward could return to LaLiga on loan.
Marc Guiu Could Return to Laliga as Sevilla Targets Chelsea Loan
Sevilla is looking to sign Marc Guiu on loan to strengthen its attack. The 20-year-old forward has been left without a squad number at Chelsea, increasing the possibility of a return to Spain in search of regular first-team football.
The 20-year-old is facing an uncertain situation at Stamford Bridge after being left without a squad number for the new season. With limited space in Chelsea’s squad, a temporary move could benefit both the player and the London club.
According to Spanish reports, Sevilla considers Guiu an attractive option to complete its attacking department. The Andalusian club recently signed Scottish striker Robbie Ure, but still wants another natural goalscorer to provide greater depth and competition.
Guiu could compete with Ure and Isaac Romero for a place in the starting lineup. Having developed through the Barcelona academy, the young forward already knows Spanish football, potentially making his adaptation much easier.
Sevilla’s need for another striker increased after several important departures. Akor Adams left for Venezia, while experienced forwards such as Alexis Sánchez and Neal Maupay also departed during the transfer window.
The club initially explored a loan move for George Ilenikhena, but that option quickly lost momentum following the striker’s impressive performances for Al Ittihad. Sevilla subsequently renewed its focus on Guiu.
From Chelsea’s perspective, a loan could provide Guiu with valuable playing time and first-team experience. For the young forward, returning to Spain could offer an opportunity to rebuild his confidence and regain an important role after a difficult spell in England.
Sevilla’s interest is not entirely new. Guiu had already been linked with the Andalusian club earlier in the summer, but his current situation at Stamford Bridge could now make negotiations easier. An agreement has yet to be reached, but the potential move could benefit all three parties.
Sevilla would obtain the attacking reinforcement it needs, Chelsea would retain control of a promising young player, and Guiu would have the chance to revive his career back in LaLiga.
