Atletico Madrid claimed the derby with a 2-1 victory over Real Madrid at the Metropolitano, as Diego Simeone's side came out on top against its city rival.

Alejandro Grimaldo opened the scoring from the penalty spot, before Jonathan David extended Atletico's advantage.

Real Madrid responded late in the match as Antonio Rudiger scored with a header to cut the deficit, but Atletico held on in the closing stages to secure the 2-1 victory.
