Lamine Yamal Doesn’t Care About Talk on Nicki Nicole or His Party With Dwarfs
Lamine Yamal, star of Barcelona and the Spanish national team, said he is unfazed by comments about his personal life and thanked Luis de la Fuente for defending him, asking that he be judged only by his football.
Yamal Responds to Criticism of His Private Life
The young Barcelona talent, Lamine Yamal, is under constant media scrutiny not only for his performances on the pitch but also for matters off it. In recent days, his rumored relationship with Argentine singer Nicki Nicole and the headlines about his birthday party became hot topics, something he addressed with calm.
“I know everything that happens in my life will be talked about, even made up. It doesn’t matter much to me. I only listen to my close circle; they know what really matters,” the Spanish international told Televisión Española.
He also expressed gratitude to his national team coach, Luis de la Fuente, who openly defended him: “I’m very thankful, his words were fair and precise. In the end, what people should talk about is what I do on the field.”
The 18-year-old attacker also stressed that if he didn’t play for Barcelona, his personal life wouldn’t be under such a microscope: “If I played for Mataró, nobody would talk about an 18th birthday party.”
Hungry for Titles With Barcelona
Leaving the controversy behind, Lamine Yamal made it clear that the Barcelona locker room remains ambitious despite their recent draw against Rayo Vallecano. “The hardest thing is to win again, but we’re hungry and confident. We’re a young squad that wants more trophies,” he said.
The forward, who now wears the number 10 shirt for the Blaugrana, explained that the decision came after the Euros and that he doesn’t feel any pressure taking on such an iconic number: “I saw the opportunity and took it, I just want to follow my path.”
He also commented on Nico Williams’ choice to stay at Athletic Club and Fermín López’s decision to remain at Barcelona: “It’s their career. I’m too young to tell anyone what to do. The important thing is they enjoy themselves and are happy where they are.”
A Future on His Own Terms
With the mindset that has made him one of Europe’s brightest young stars, Lamine Yamal reaffirmed that his focus is solely on growing as a player and contributing to his teams. Amid rumors and criticism, his answer was simple: stay calm, focus on football, and prove why he is considered one of the great rising talents in world football.
