Joan Laporta Sets Target Date for Camp Nou Return
Joan Laporta confirmed that the return to the Spotify Camp Nou already has a target date, celebrating the enormous response from fans during the first test event at the revamped stadium.
FC Barcelona president Joan Laporta has once again fueled excitement among supporters by revealing that the club’s long-awaited return to the Spotify Camp Nou is nearly set. After months of construction and matches played away from home, the club is finally approaching the moment their fans have been dreaming of.
Massive Success for the Test Training Session
During the trip to Bruges for a Champions League fixture, Laporta highlighted the incredible reception to Friday’s open training session, which will serve as a major operational test for the new stadium facilities. The 23,000 available tickets for the event — featuring the squad coached by Hansi Flick — sold out quickly, proving that culés are eager to reunite with their iconic home ground.
“There is a huge desire to return to Camp Nou. We are very grateful to our members and fans. The fact that all tickets were sold out is great news,” Laporta stated.
The club aims to evaluate every key area of the venue, particularly the improvements made to the lateral grandstand during the first stage of renovations.
November 22 or 29: The Expected Return
Staying cautious but optimistic, Laporta detailed the window in which the comeback will take place: either November 22, in the match against Athletic Club, or November 29 versus Alavés.
“Everything is ready, and now we will carry out a public test to confirm it. Unless something unexpected happens, the return will take place on November 22 or 29,” he confirmed.
The latter date would also coincide with Barcelona’s 126th anniversary, a moment that could transform the night into a double celebration: the reopening of their stadium and a historic birthday party.
The Barça board expects to secure the occupancy license — allowing a capacity of around 45,000 spectators — between November 12 and 15. With the works in the lateral area completed weeks ago, confidence within the club is growing.
The long-awaited return of FC Barcelona to their fortress is almost here. If everything goes according to plan, the roar of Camp Nou will once again echo before the end of November — and for supporters, that already feels like a victory.
