How Kylian Mbappé Won the 2025 Golden Boot: All His Goals, Points, and Full Stats
- Kylian Mbappé closes out the 2024–25 season with another individual milestone that cements his place among football’s greatest scorers.
The King of Goals Reigns Again
Kylian Mbappé has officially received the 2025 Golden Boot, the award that recognizes him as the top scorer across Europe’s leagues. The trophy, presented by MARCA on behalf of the European Sports Media (ESM), celebrates a brilliant individual campaign for the Frenchman — despite an inconsistent season for Real Madrid.
With 31 goals in LaLiga EA Sports, Mbappé surpassed Viktor Gyökeres and Mohamed Salah, who rounded out the podium. To reach the milestone, he needed 2,915 minutes over 34 matches, confirming his status as one of the most lethal forwards on the planet.
A New Galáctico in the Trophy’s History
With this triumph, Mbappé succeeds Harry Kane, the 2023–24 winner, and Erling Haaland, who won it in 2022–23. He also becomes the first Real Madrid player to lift the Golden Boot since Cristiano Ronaldo, who achieved it three times (2010–11, 2013–14, and 2014–15).
The French striker once again asserts his dominance in Europe and moves closer to the records of legends like Messi and Ronaldo, who turned this trophy into a symbol of attacking supremacy.

Why Mbappé Won and Not Gyökeres
Although Viktor Gyökeres scored 39 goals for Sporting CP, the Golden Boot scoring system weights goals according to each league’s coefficient. Goals scored in Europe’s top five leagues (Spain, England, Germany, Italy, and France) are worth 2 points, while goals in lower-ranked leagues, like Portugal’s, are multiplied by 1.5.
As a result, Gyökeres tallied 58.5 points (39x1.5), while Mbappé’s 31 goals earned 62 points, enough to secure the trophy.
