Haaland and Rodri could join Real Madrid: here's everything that must happen
The race for the Real Madrid presidency took another dramatic turn as candidate Enrique Riquelme promised to bring Erling Haaland and Rodri Hernández to the club if he wins the election on June 7.
The race for the Real Madrid presidency took another dramatic turn as candidate Enrique Riquelme promised to bring Erling Haaland and Rodri Hernández to the club if he wins the election on June 7.
During a television interview, Riquelme unveiled several key points of his sporting project and insisted he is willing to personally stand behind his campaign promises.
Haaland headlines Riquelme's project
Riquelme identified Erling Haaland as one of the marquee signings he wants to make if elected president.
The candidate revealed that he has even signed a personal notarial guarantee linked to the promises made during his campaign.
"I have never been president of Real Madrid. I cannot ask members to trust me if I am not the first one to trust myself," he said.
He also expressed confidence that the Manchester City striker wants to join the Spanish giants.
"Haaland has a clause, he wants to come to Real Madrid," Riquelme stated.

Rodri is also a priority target
The presidential candidate also made it clear that Rodri is a player he wants at the Santiago Bernabéu.
Riquelme revealed that conversations regarding the midfielder have already taken place and left no doubt about his intentions.
"Rodri will play for Real Madrid. He has to play for Real Madrid and I will do everything possible," he said.
The player is viewed as a key reinforcement for a position Riquelme believes needs strengthening.
Mourinho not part of his plans
Riquelme also addressed Florentino Pérez's announcement regarding José Mourinho.
While praising the Portuguese manager, he made it clear that Mourinho is not the coach he would appoint.
"He had his moment. He is a good coach, but not for our project," Riquelme explained.
Instead, his proposal includes Raúl González as sporting director and Fernando Hierro overseeing the academy structure.
A coach "everyone wants"
The candidate also promised to reveal his preferred head coach in the coming days.
According to Riquelme, the manager is experienced and would excite Real Madrid supporters.
"He is undoubtedly the coach everyone wants to see managing Real Madrid," he said.
The June 7 election will determine who leads Real Madrid into its next chapter and whether any of these ambitious promises become reality.
