FC Barcelona Pays Tribute to Kobe Bryant With a Black Mamba-Style Shirt

A historic collaboration

What had long been an open secret is now official: FC Barcelona’s new second kit pays tribute to Kobe Bryant and his lasting admiration for the club. The design, created in partnership with the Kobe brand by Nike, blends the competitive spirit of the Black Mamba with the Catalan club’s signature style of play.

Unveiled through a conceptual video titled Mamba Rondo, the launch featured stars like Alejandro Balde, Gavi, Frenkie de Jong, Alexia Putellas, and Salma Paralluelo, among others. The rondo, a core drill in Barça’s methodology, becomes a visual metaphor for the relentless pursuit of excellence that defined Kobe’s mentality.

A golden design with Mamba DNA

The shirt comes in a soft gold tone dubbed Team Gold, with accents in Persian Violet and black—colors that nod to Kobe’s teams. The iconic Kobe Sheath logo appears in 3D snakeskin texture on both the chest and Barça crest, while the Spotify logo remains centered in black.

The sleeves feature Ambilight branding for the men’s version and Bimbo for the women’s. The black shorts incorporate violet details and snake-like textures, reinforcing the homage to the Lakers legend. Barça’s badge is placed on the left leg, while the Kobe logo sits on the right, just below the golden jersey number.

More than just a jersey

The kit is part of a larger Barça x Kobe collection that includes a black pre-match top, a basketball uniform, a tracksuit, and limited edition footwear and accessories. A crossover that blends two sporting icons—and elevates Kobe Bryant’s legacy in the heart of Catalonia.
