Enrique Riquelme decided to leave the nuances behind and launched one of the harshest messages of his campaign leading up to the Real Madrid presidential elections. In an internal political climate not seen for two decades, the businessman from Alicante accused Florentino Pérez of "spreading false information" and promoting "defamation campaigns" within Real Madrid itself, a move that, according to him, erodes the democratic life of the club.

The status of the candidacy

Riquelme stressed that his candidacy is "totally legitimate" and that it was validated by the Electoral Board, clearing any suspicion about his eligibility. In that regard, he explained that the financial operation that generated controversy, a bond issue for 2 billion dollars, has already been clarified and corrected by the media, so he considers it unjustified that it continues to be used as a political weapon.

The candidate also denied any irregular links with previous stages of the club and recalled that several of the names mentioned by Florentino Pérez's circle "also worked with him," so he considers it inconsistent that they are now being used to question his project. For Riquelme, criticizing the current president's decisions does not mean attacking Real Madrid, but rather exercising a basic right of internal participation

More transparency in the process

One of the most sensitive points in his message was the request for transparency regarding figures close to the president, such as Anas Laghari, whose influence, according to Riquelme, should be publicly explained. At the same time, he launched a direct challenge: he invited Florentino to a public, televised debate to compare ideas, management models, and future plans in front of the members.

Despite the critical tone, Riquelme assured that his campaign will continue to be "clean, calm, and focused on the future of the club," trying to distance himself from what he considers a strategy of attrition by the ruling party.
