Dusan Vlahovic Back on Barcelona’s Radar as Lewandowski’s Heir
Barcelona is already searching for a successor to Robert Lewandowski, and Dusan Vlahovic’s name is once again gaining strength on the club’s radar.
Barça Looking Ahead
At FC Barcelona, the alarm bells are ringing. Robert Lewandowski, now 37 years old, is entering the final stretch of his contract, and an extension is far from certain. Faced with that uncertainty, the sporting director Deco has begun scanning the market for a reliable striker who can lead the attack next season.
One name gaining serious traction is Dusan Vlahovic, the 26-year-old Serbian forward currently playing for Juventus. According to Tuttosport, Barça still considers him a priority target after Deco held initial talks in August with his agent, Darko Ristic, to assess his contract situation in Turin.
A Free-Agent Opportunity
Vlahovic’s deal with Juventus expires at the end of the current season, and negotiations for a renewal have stalled. All signs point to the striker refusing to extend his stay, planning instead to pursue a new challenge in the summer — with the advantage of arriving as a free agent.
The forward has already recorded four goals and one assist in his first eight games of the campaign, maintaining his consistent scoring form in Serie A. Reports from Italy suggest he’s ready to close his chapter with Juventus and take on a bigger stage, possibly in LaLiga or the Premier League.
A Competitive Market
Bayern Munich has also shown interest in Vlahovic, though Harry Kane’s expected renewal in Germany could complicate any deal. At Barcelona, however, his potential signing is viewed as a strategic move — a young yet proven striker with strong market value and available at zero cost.
Meanwhile, the Catalan club continues monitoring other options such as Karl Etta Eyong, the breakout Cameroonian star from Villarreal, but Vlahovic’s profile fits perfectly as an immediate and natural successor to Lewandowski. Landing him would be a masterstroke in planning: youth, goals, and projection — all without paying a transfer fee.
