Did Kylian Mbappé Break the Locker Room at Real Madrid?
This season has not been the best for Real Madrid. The club is set to go through another year without major trophies, and, in addition, the atmosphere inside the locker room does not appear to be at its best. According to Diario Sport, there are several internal issues involving Kylian Mbappé and some of his teammates.
The outlet cites information from Journal Du Real, which claims that the French forward would have voiced complaints within the group, pointing out that some players “ruined the season,” as he believes he delivered through goals and performances.
Internal tensions and clashes in the locker room
According to the report, part of the squad is not comfortable with this stance, and it is mentioned that Kylian Mbappé has had disagreements with several teammates. Even Jude Bellingham is described as one of the players who has most strongly confronted him, being among the few willing to respond directly inside the Real Madrid locker room.
Another issue causing frustration within the team is his collective contribution. Mbappé has only four assists, while a large portion of his 41 goals have come thanks to the attacking work of his teammates, as he has received 25 assists from the squad. The idea that he has individually fulfilled his role has reportedly not been well received inside the group.

Criticism of defensive effort and debate over the future of the bench
His limited defensive involvement has also been highlighted. According to the report, within the locker room there is a belief that the Real Madrid team functions better when the French forward is not on the pitch. His lack of pressing in buildup phases and minimal off-the-ball work have generated internal criticism, as the rest of the squad must compensate for that effort.
Diario Sport also reports that part of the locker room does not want a coach who would arrive solely to cover the team’s shortcomings or to specifically support Mbappé. In recent days, names such as Didier Deschamps, who already manages him in the French national team, have emerged, although this option would not convince everyone inside the club.
For now, Real Madrid’s next head coach remains undecided. One of the strongest candidates is José Mourinho, a manager known for his strong personality and experience handling complex dressing rooms. The big question is whether he would be able to reunite a squad that, according to various reports, is going through a significant internal divide.
