Could Barcelona Face Another Setback? Hansi Flick Warns Carlo Ancelotti Over Raphinha’s Brazil Call-Up

  • Raphinha’s call-up to Brazil’s national team for November hasn’t gone down well in Barcelona. Hansi Flick voiced his concerns and sent a message directly to Carlo Ancelotti.

Hansi Flick Is Concerned About Raphinha’s Brazil Call-Up

The upcoming international break has raised concerns at Barcelona. Raphinha will once again join the Brazil national team for its November friendlies, a situation that has caused some concern for the coaching staff led by Hansi Flick.

The forward is one of the key players in Barcelona's project, and having him available will be crucial for the team's upcoming fixtures. That is why the German manager does not want the international break to become another setback for his squad.

During his pre-match press conference ahead of the game against Deportivo Alavés, Flick was asked about Raphinha's call-up and made it clear that he had already discussed the Brazilian's situation with Deco.

Flick Sends Ancelotti a Message to Avoid Another Injury

The manager's concerns are based on a recent incident: Raphinha returned injured from his previous Brazil call-up after suffering a physical issue during the match against Australia. The injury forced him to leave the national team camp and return to Barcelona earlier than expected.

That is why Flick used his press conference to send a message to Carlo Ancelotti, Brazil's head coach, asking him to carefully manage the forward's playing time.

"If he can manage his playing time well, I'll be happy," the German manager explained. He also acknowledged the player's strong commitment to his country: "Every player wants to be part of the Brazil national team."

Raphinha Set to Travel to Singapore for Brazil Friendlies

The schedule is not particularly convenient for Barcelona either. Brazil will face Japan on November 14 and Singapore on November 17, with both matches taking place in Singapore, meaning Raphinha will have to make a long international trip.

Flick did not hide his concerns about the travel arrangements and admitted that the situation was not ideal for the player. "Traveling to Singapore is not the best situation, but it's something that's out of my control," he commented.

Barcelona Hopes to Get Its Captain Back Without Any Setbacks

Flick's priority is to have Raphinha fully fit for the remainder of the season. The Brazilian is an important part of Barcelona's attacking setup, and his absence would force the manager to adjust his plans.

Furthermore, the Catalan side needs to bounce back after its defeat against Real Madrid in El Clásico. Losing another key player would therefore be a setback the coaching staff would rather avoid.
