Barcelona Wants To Sign Serhou Guirassy… at a Bargain Price!
FC Barcelona could be about to seize a golden opportunity in the next transfer window. The Catalan club is closely monitoring the contractual situation of Serhou Guirassy, the Borussia Dortmund striker whose release clause will be significantly reduced next summer. With his outstanding goal-scoring form and an increasingly affordable price tag, the Guinean forward has become an irresistible target for Europe’s biggest clubs.
A decreasing clause and an open future
According to Sky Germany, Guirassy’s contract with Borussia Dortmund, which runs until 2028, includes a release clause that decreases progressively over the years. After being set at around €75 million in 2025, the fee will drop considerably next summer—making his departure far more feasible and at a cost well below market value.
Furthermore, this clause reportedly does not apply to Saudi Arabian clubs, who would have to negotiate directly with Dortmund—something that strengthens the chances of Barcelona and other European contenders. In Can Barça, the Guinean’s name has emerged as a potential long-term solution for the inevitable generational transition from Robert Lewandowski.
Since joining Stuttgart in 2024, Guirassy has done nothing but impress. His €18 million transfer has turned into an absolute steal: in less than two seasons, he has scored 44 goals, ranking just behind stars like Harry Kane, Kylian Mbappé, Erling Haaland, and Lewandowski himself in Europe’s scoring charts.
Kovac stands by him despite his goal drought
Despite his immense talent, Guirassy is currently going through a brief dry spell—he hasn’t scored in his last three Bundesliga matches. Nevertheless, his coach, Niko Kovac, continues to place full trust in his star striker. “Serhou remains fundamental for us. He’s our insurance policy, a key player who always delivers,” Kovac told Sky.

The manager explained that the Guinean is now facing a different kind of pressure, with opponents marking him more tightly in every game. “They close down his spaces because they know how dangerous he is. But I have no doubt he’ll start scoring again soon,” he added.
Meanwhile, Borussia Dortmund is preparing for a massive clash against Bayern Munich on October 18, with Guirassy eager to rediscover his scoring touch. His future, however, is set to become one of the hottest topics of next summer—a lethal striker, in top form, and financially within reach of a Barcelona side dreaming of another smart signing.
