Barcelona Set Clear Goals After Winning LaLiga
After securing another LaLiga title, German coach Hansi Flick made it clear that the next step for Barcelona is to conquer Europe once again.
Barcelona continue celebrating another LaLiga championship, but inside the club the focus has already shifted toward the future. After clinching the title with a 2-0 victory over Real Madrid in El Clásico, head coach Hansi Flick openly stated that the team’s next major objective will be winning the UEFA Champions League.
The German manager, who secured his second consecutive league title with the Blaugrana, said he feels extremely proud of the collective growth shown by the squad throughout the season and highlighted the mentality his players developed from day one.
“We want to continue giving things to this club and reach the next level. We will try to win the Champions League next season,” said Hansi Flick after the match.
Barcelona Hungry for More Success
Despite already winning the league, the message from the coach made it clear that the current project at Barcelona is far from complete. For Flick, the foundation of the team’s success has been the unity within the squad and the attitude shown by the players every single day.
The German explained that from the very beginning of the season he sensed a different energy around the team and believed the group had the mentality needed to return to the top level of European football.
“We are a family,” said the Barça manager, who also praised the support provided by the club’s board and the strong chemistry developed inside the dressing room.
In addition, Flick does not want the team to slow down despite already wrapping up the title race. Barcelona still has another target in mind: finishing the season with 100 points. To achieve that milestone, they will need to win their final three league matches.
“It’s possible and we want to achieve it,” the German coach added.
An Emotional Day for Flick
The title celebration also carried deep personal emotion for Hansi Flick. The coach revealed after the match that he decided to manage the game despite learning earlier that morning that his father had passed away.
Even after receiving the heartbreaking news, the German manager chose to remain with the team for one of the most important matches of the season.
“My mother called me and told me that my father had passed away. I thought about whether I should stay away or speak with my players. I wanted to tell them because they are like my family,” explained Flick.
His words reflected the strong bond currently surrounding Barcelona, a club that not only reclaimed domestic dominance but is now fully focused on returning to the top of European football.
