Barcelona’s Plan for Lamine Yamal: Get Him Back in Shape for the Clash Against Paris Saint-Germain
Barcelona’s Plan with Lamine Yamal: Patience Before PSG
At FC Barcelona, the Ballon d’Or is now behind them, and all eyes are on the team’s upcoming fixtures. Central to that plan is the careful management of their star, Lamine Yamal, who is recovering after missing the last two matches.
A Step Forward in Recovery
According to Sport, just a day after finishing second in the Ballon d’Or voting and winning the Kopa Trophy, Yamal made an important step in his recovery. On Tuesday, he trained on the pitch for the first time since his injury, working individually with the ball after more than a week of gym sessions.
The outlook is encouraging: Barcelona’s staff is pleased with his progress, but they don’t want to rush him. The plan is clear — he won’t be risked against Oviedo and is unlikely to feature against Real Sociedad, with the ultimate goal being to have him ready for the Champions League showdown against PSG on October 1.
Barça Defense Getting Reinforcements

Alongside Yamal’s recovery, Barça also received good news in defense. Alejandro Balde, who suffered a minor muscle injury earlier this month, trained with the group for the first time since his setback. While he’s not ready to play yet, his return is expected around the PSG match.
Meanwhile, Pau Cubarsí, who picked up a knee knock against Newcastle, has rejoined group training and should be available for the match against Oviedo.
All Eyes on PSG
Barcelona’s coaching staff, led by Hansi Flick, is carefully timing these recoveries with one key date in mind: October 1 at the Camp Nou against Paris Saint-Germain. That’s when they hope to have Yamal, Balde, and Cubarsí all fit and ready for one of the biggest games of the season.
