FC Barcelona are not giving up on Rodri Hernández. After having two offers rejected by Manchester City, the Catalan club are preparing a third approach that could become their final attempt to land one of their biggest targets of the transfer window.

According to Fabrizio Romano, talks remain ongoing and Barça are prepared to make another financial effort in an attempt to finally get closer to the English club’s demands.

The intention is to resolve the deal as soon as possible and prevent the Spanish midfielder’s future from dragging into the final days of the transfer window.

Barcelona Could Go Up to €70 Million

Barça have gradually increased their offer.

The first proposal was reportedly worth around €40-45 million plus add-ons. A second attempt followed at close to €60 million, but Manchester City rejected that offer as well.

Now, Joan Laporta and Deco are reportedly preparing a third proposal that could reach approximately €70 million through a combination of a guaranteed fee and different bonuses.

That appears to be the limit Barcelona are willing to reach.

City, meanwhile, have maintained a valuation close to €80 million, although the gap between the two clubs is now considerably smaller than it was when negotiations began.

Rodri Could Be the Key to the Deal

Barcelona’s biggest ally in these negotiations could be Rodri himself.

The midfielder is reportedly interested in returning to LaLiga and wearing the Blaugrana shirt, a factor that could ultimately prove important if City agree to negotiate over this latest proposal.

His contract also expires in 2027. If Manchester City continue to maintain a high asking price and no contract extension is agreed, the situation could change considerably over time.

As previously reported, Enzo Maresca also stopped short of publicly guaranteeing the Spaniard’s future. When asked about Rodri, the coach pointed out that the transfer window remains open and that “anything can happen.”

One Final Push for Rodri

Manchester City also need clarity over the situation.

The English club continue to be linked with Enzo Fernández, meaning Rodri’s future could be important before City make further moves in midfield.

For Barcelona, however, the plan appears much clearer.

There will be a third attempt.

The deal is still far from complete, but after seeing two offers rejected, Barça are prepared to raise their bid once again.

If that is not enough, the situation could change completely.

But before thinking about 2027, Barcelona want to play their final card in an attempt to bring Rodri Hernández to the club this summer.
