Barcelona Looking To Sell Casadó With Marseille Emerging as Possible Destination
The future of Marc Casadó has become one of the hottest topics in the FC Barcelona transfer market. The 21-year-old midfielder, a product of La Masia, is among the candidates to leave in this final stretch of the summer, as the club seeks to free up space in its financial fair play. In France, reports already link him with Olympique de Marseille, who are searching for a replacement for Adrien Rabiot, declared transferable after an internal conflict.
Casadó on Marseille’s radar
French outlet Onze Mondial has identified Casadó as one of the main candidates to reinforce Marseille should Rabiot’s departure be confirmed. Under the management of Roberto De Zerbi and sporting director Pablo Longoria, the French side aims to sign a young midfielder with enough experience to perform in the Champions League.
The Barça academy graduate currently has a market value of around €30 million, a figure the club would be willing to accept if the player gives the green light to a move. However, the big question is the player’s own decision, as he has never hidden his desire to succeed in Barcelona colors.
The final word rests with the player
FC Barcelona will not force his departure. The club acknowledges that Casadó’s rise was crucial in the first half of last season, when he consolidated himself as a starting midfielder in several matches. Nevertheless, with Frenkie de Jong back and other key names in the squad, his role has diminished—something that could push him toward new opportunities.
Meanwhile, several other clubs have shown interest in the Spaniard. In the Premier League, West Ham and Wolverhampton are keeping a close eye on his development, while in Spain, Betis and Atlético de Madrid have also added him to their shortlist. The sticking point: Barcelona will not negotiate for less than €30 million, a price tag that could limit domestic options.
The outcome ultimately depends on the player. If Casadó chooses to prioritize playing time and protagonism over the dream of breaking through at Camp Nou, Marseille could well become his next destination.
