Barcelona Already Envisions Playing Alongside Nico Williams
Amid growing rumors linking Nico Williams with a move to FC Barcelona, one of the club’s current players has publicly expressed his excitement at the prospect of teaming up with the Athletic Club winger. Ferran Torres, who has already shared the attack with Nico for Spain, believes they could form a top-tier front line if the deal goes through.
What Did Ferran Say About Nico?
Speaking at the launch of his summer football camp in Foios, Valencia, Ferran Torres was enthusiastic when asked about the potential signing:
“Of course I’d like it. I’ve already played with him in the national team, and we could form a strong attacking trio if the move happens,” he said.
However, the Barcelona forward clarified that he hasn’t personally discussed the matter with Nico Williams:
“It’s not something we talk about directly. But all top players want to come to top clubs, and Barça is one of them.”
How Does He See the Challenge From Real Madrid?
Torres was also asked about Real Madrid’s aggressive summer transfer window, but chose to stay focused on Barça’s confidence:
“We know what kind of club they are and that they try to sign the best every summer, but we’re also very happy with our squad,” he said.
When asked about the pressure of being labeled favorites, he added:
“It’s not something I like because being the favorite means everyone wants to beat you. Still, apart from the Champions League, we’ve won almost everything.”
How Is Ferran Recovering Physically?
Ferran Torres also provided a positive update on his recovery after undergoing appendicitis surgery in May:
“Physically I feel good, mentally even better, and I’m already training to rejoin the team as soon as possible.”
Looking ahead, he expressed his ambitions with the Spanish national team:
“We’re a very young team, with a lot of room to grow. And even so, we’ve already achieved great things… so why not dream about winning the World Cup?”
