Ancelotti's full focus on Madrid's LaLiga title pursuit despite continued Brazil links
Brazil remain heavily linked with a move to appoint Carlo Ancelotti, whose full focus remains on seeing out this season with Real Madrid.
Carlo Ancelotti says he will not speak about his Real Madrid future until the final LaLiga game of the season, amid continued links to managing Brazil.
Ancelotti has led Madrid to three Champions League trophies, and is seeking a third LaLiga title with Los Blancos as they sit four points below leaders Barcelona with five matches left.
Madrid are preparing to host Celta Vigo in their next league outing on Sunday, though much of the pre-match discussion remains around a potential move to international football with Brazil.
"I can make it clear, the truth is that I am very fond of my club, my players and my fans. I'll talk about my future on the 25th [of May]," Ancelotti told reporters on Saturday.
"I know perfectly well what I have to do, what I am going to do and what I am doing, which is not talking about my future today. I know I'm disappointing you today but I don't care."
Ancelotti has won 15 trophies at Madrid, making him the club's most successful coach in terms of trophies won.
The Italian also holds the LaLiga record for the most consecutive matches without defeat: 42 games between September 2023 and October 2024 (W31 D11) with Madrid.
With countless records and silverware to his name, Ancelotti believes any exit will be amicable, though he reiterated his uncertainty on when he will leave the Spanish capital.
"Anything will be a fantastic farewell," he added.
"I've never had a fight in six years with the club, and I'm not going to have one on the last day, which I don't know when it will be. It could be May 25, it could be 2026."
Turning his attention to Sunday, Ancelotti remains buoyant and insists Madrid will not give up on the league title race with Barcelona, who beat them in last Saturday's Copa del Rey final.
The Madrid boss will fancy his chances against Sunday's visitors, too, considering he has won 10 of his 11 LaLiga games against Celta.
"We've come from an almost perfect season and we've had a lot of difficulties," he continued.
"But there are five games left, and anything can happen. What can't happen is that we give up. We have to win these five games and give everything.
"If we win, we can change the season and have a very good season."
