(VIDEO) Lamine Yamal Turns Into Ronaldinho With an “Elástica” That’s Already Gone Viral on Social Media
The talent of Lamine Yamal continues to make headlines at FC Barcelona. During a recent training session, the young Blaugrana prodigy left everyone stunned by pulling off the iconic “elástica” popularized by Ronaldinho—and he added an extra touch of flair: a nutmeg on Jofre Torrents, another of La Masia’s rising stars. The move, shared by the club itself on social media, came with a bold message: “Lamine is unstoppable.”
However, the winger’s name has been in the news not only for his technical brilliance but also for a sanction imposed by UEFA.
Fines and suspensions after Champions League elimination
Following a meeting of the Control, Ethics, and Disciplinary Body, the European governing body confirmed a one-match suspension for head coach Hansi Flick, stemming from his behavior during the second leg of the Champions League semifinals against Inter Milan—a match that ended 4-3 in favor of the Italians and sealed Barça’s elimination. The German coach, visibly upset with the refereeing decisions, struck the bench in the closing moments and, after the final whistle, made it clear he felt the result was unfair.
“Every 50-50 went their way. That’s what saddens me. I won’t say more about the referee, but it wasn’t fair for my team, which worked tremendously hard,” said Flick in the press conference.
The sanction includes a €20,000 fine for the coach, along with two financial penalties for the club: €5,250 for throwing objects and €2,500 for setting off flares in the stadium—both violations listed in UEFA’s Disciplinary Regulations.
Meanwhile, both Robert Lewandowski and Lamine Yamal must each pay €5,000 for failing to report immediately to anti-doping control, as required by Articles 21.8 and 21.10a of the Anti-Doping Regulations.
Inter also sanctioned
Inter Milan, Barça’s opponent in that tie, didn’t escape unscathed either. The Italian side was fined €22,000 for blocking public passageways and €11,500 for the use of flares, in addition to receiving a warning for improper conduct by the team.
Between the magic he produces on the pitch and the disciplinary issues off it, Lamine Yamal remains one of the most talked-about names in the football world—proving that his road to stardom will not be without both lights… and shadows.
