A moment in the 30th minute completely changed the course of the match between Real Sociedad and Real Madrid, when Dean Huijsen was sent off after a foul on Mikel Oyarzabal.

What Exactly Happened

The game was unfolding with balance when Oyarzabal broke through the lines after a misplaced pass in midfield. Huijsen, covering at the back, stepped up to challenge as the last defender. Referee Jesús Gil Manzano judged that his tackle denied a clear goal-scoring opportunity, issuing a straight red card.
