All the Goals From Real Madrid vs Levante
Real Madrid win amid chaos against Levante as the Santiago Bernabéu turns on its players
Real Madrid secured a 2–0 win over Levante that was as necessary as it was uncomfortable on a night filled with chaos at the Santiago Bernabéu. The atmosphere quickly became hostile, with Real Madrid fans turning on their players, and Vinícius Júnior booed repeatedly as tension took over the stadium.
The Whites decided the match in the second half thanks to a Kylian Mbappé penalty goal and a header from academy player Raúl Asencio, sealing a Real Madrid victory against Levante in Álvaro Arbeloa’s league debut at the Bernabéu as head coach.
The Bernabéu erupts: whistles, tension, and players singled out
The Bernabéu whistles and boos shifted from collective frustration to direct individual criticism. Vinícius Júnior was the most targeted, but Jude Bellingham, Federico Valverde, and Eduardo Camavinga also faced loud disapproval from a crowd clearly unhappy with the team’s performance.
Camavinga struggled in the first half, repeatedly losing possession and allowing Levante counterattacks against a well-organized back five. Supporters ignored Arbeloa’s pre-match message referencing Juanito’s competitive spirit, and chants against Florentino Pérez echoed around Chamartín—an extremely rare moment that underlined the fan unrest at the Bernabéu.
A first half without football or answers
Real Madrid delivered a chaotic first-half performance, once again exposing a lack of football and creativity. Arbeloa’s attacking gamble—pairing Mbappé, Vinícius, and Gonzalo—failed to connect. Mbappé was isolated between three center-backs, Gonzalo offered little width, and Vinícius looked overwhelmed by the pressure from the stands.
Aside from a wayward Mbappé shot and a soft Gonzalo header, Levante were barely troubled and even created clear chances to take the lead, highlighting Real Madrid’s ongoing struggles despite playing at home.
Mbappé leads the reaction after the break
After a deafening halftime whistle, Arbeloa reacted from the bench. Gonzalo and Camavinga were withdrawn, and Real Madrid improved in the second half with the introductions of Arda Güler and Franco Mastantuono, who brought balance, control, and clarity.
The turning point arrived through a decisive sequence: a through ball from Arda Güler, Mbappé’s run, and a defensive mistake that resulted in a penalty. Mbappé converted from the spot, briefly calming the Bernabéu boos and giving Real Madrid the lead.
Asencio seals it as academy players win over the stadium
Seven minutes later, Raúl Asencio scored to seal the match, heading home from a corner delivered by Güler. On a night dominated by pressure, whistles, and tension, the only names chanted by the fans were those of Real Madrid academy players, Gonzalo and Asencio.
Levante attempted a late response, but Real Madrid could have extended the lead through chances from Mastantuono (off the crossbar), Bellingham, Vinícius, and Mbappé, closing out a 2–0 win that eased the scoreboard but not the crisis atmosphere at the Santiago Bernabéu.
