The Real Madrid Will Celebrate LaLiga on Sunday May 12th
Real Madrid will celebrate its thirty-sixth LaLiga title on Sunday, May 12th, with visits to Madrid City Hall and the Regional Government Headquarters, before meeting with its fans at the Cibeles Fountain, where captain Nacho Fernández will put the scarf on the goddess for the first time in his career.
The Champions League semifinal match against Bayern Munich, which will determine a spot in the final in London after a 2-2 draw in the first leg, led the club to postpone the LaLiga celebration after clinching the title on Saturday.
Real Madrid's victory over Cádiz and Barcelona's subsequent defeat against Girona in Montilivi mathematically crowned Real Madrid as league champions. The players and coaching staff, led by Carlo Ancelotti, celebrated modestly in the Bernabéu's honor box and invited their fans, who gathered at the Cibeles Fountain, to celebrate on a later date.
According to sources from the club, it will be next Sunday, after playing on Saturday in Granada. The day will begin at 11:00 with visits to the institutions, with President Florentino Pérez and his team present at City Hall and the Regional Government Headquarters.
On an open-top bus decorated with Real Madrid's 36th LaLiga trophy, the players will celebrate the title with Madrid fans through the streets of the city, ending the journey at the Cibeles Fountain. There, a catwalk will be set up for the meeting with the supporters, and a crane will lift Nacho to the goddess's level to put the club's scarf on her.
Real Madrid chose to change the celebration this time compared to two years ago, during their last league conquest, when they faced Manchester City in the Champions League after being crowned champions and celebrated their success.
