Robert Lewandowski Channels His Inner Cristiano Ronaldo, Says His Fitness Can Keep Him Going at Barcelona
At 36, Robert Lewandowski not only finished as Barcelona’s top scorer this season, but also proves that age is no obstacle. Like Cristiano Ronaldo, he relies on his physical condition to stay at the top level.
Robert Lewandowski wrapped up another standout season with Barcelona, scoring over 40 goals and lifting three trophies. While many believed his career was winding down, the Polish striker proved he still has plenty left in the tank. “My age is just a number. I feel great physically and mentally,” he said in a recent interview.
Much like Cristiano Ronaldo, age hasn’t slowed him down. At 36, the forward says he’s ready to keep competing at the highest level for at least another season. “I have time to decide what comes next, but for now I know I’m ready to keep going,” he added.
A Young Squad With an Experienced Leader
Throughout the year, Lewandowski shared the pitch with a young squad still under construction. For him, teamwork and patience have been key. “I knew Barça needed time to change things. You can’t transform everything in one or two seasons,” he explained.
The arrival of Hansi Flick as head coach also played a major role. The German tactician managed to elevate the individual performance of many players. “I spoke with Flick when he arrived and shared my perspective on the club. He found a way to get the best out of everyone,” said the veteran.
Enjoying the Present, No Rush for the Future
With one more year on his contract, Lewandowski isn’t rushing to make decisions. “Football changes quickly. A week is already a long time in this sport. Right now, I just want to enjoy the moment, prepare well, and see what happens,” he said.
The striker also pointed out that he doesn’t need to be ten years younger to enjoy this phase. “I’m proud of everything I’ve accomplished. Football has changed a lot, and I’ve adapted. I’m happy to be playing in this team,” he concluded.
With words like these, Robert Lewandowski proves that age truly is just a number, and just like Cristiano Ronaldo, his mindset and fitness are enough to keep him thriving at the elite level.
