Raphinha Earns Ballon D’or Credit After Winning Laliga MVP
LaLiga EA Sports has named Raphinha, Brazilian forward for FC Barcelona, as the Best Player of LaLiga 2024/25, recognizing his key role in a historic season for the Catalan club. Barça not only won the LaLiga title but also lifted the Copa del Rey and the Spanish Super Cup, completing a domestic treble under the leadership of Hansi Flick.

He beat out Lamine Yamal and Kylian Mbappé
Raphinha came out on top in the final voting over standout players such as his teammates Lamine Yamal, Robert Lewandowski, and Pedri, as well as Real Madrid stars Kylian Mbappé, Vinícius Júnior, and Jude Bellingham, along with Isco (Betis) and Oihan Sancet (Athletic Club), according to an official statement by LaLiga.
In his third season with Barcelona, Raphinha shone with 18 goals and 9 assists, numbers that established him as one of the most decisive players of the campaign. His outstanding performance led to a contract renewal with the club until June 30, 2028. During the signing, held on May 22, the Brazilian expressed his desire to finish his career at Barça.
The 28-year-old winger had already been named MVP of the month in August and was a finalist for the award in January, reinforcing his consistency throughout the season. Raphinha now succeeds Englishman Jude Bellingham, who won the award last season.
With this new recognition, Raphinha cements his status as one of LaLiga's top players and a key figure at FC Barcelona.
