Lewandowski Praises Impact of Hansi Flick at Barcelona
At 36, Robert Lewandowski not only led Barcelona in goals this season, but he also praised Hansi Flick's impact on the team. The Polish striker believes the coach’s leadership was key to the club’s success.
Robert Lewandowski wrapped up another outstanding season with Barcelona, scoring 42 goals and helping the team secure three major titles. Despite being 36, the forward insists he still has more to give. "Age is just a number. I feel great physically and mentally," he said in a recent interview.
When asked about his future, Lewandowski made it clear he’s in no rush to decide. With one year left on his contract, he plans to focus on staying in shape and preparing for the new campaign. “I know I’m capable of performing at this level for at least one more season,” he added.
Flick Elevated the Level of Every Player
The arrival of Hansi Flick as head coach had a major influence on the squad’s development. For Lewandowski, who had previously worked with Flick at Bayern Munich, his impact was immediate. “When he joined, I told him what I thought about the club’s situation. He managed to get every player performing at their best,” the striker noted.
According to Lewandowski, Flick's approach helped unlock the full potential of a young team that needed time to mature. “It’s not easy to change everything in one or two seasons. But with his leadership, we’ve built a strong and competitive side,” he explained.
Looking Ahead Without Pressure
While Lewandowski remains committed to Barcelona, he admits the future in football is unpredictable. “In this sport, even a week can change everything. I want to enjoy the present and see what happens,” he said.
The Polish international emphasized how proud he is of what he’s accomplished and how much he enjoys playing in this team. “I’m happy here. With players feeling good physically and emotionally, performance improves. Flick understands that perfectly,” he concluded.
As Barcelona prepares for the upcoming season, Lewandowski’s leadership and belief in the project remain crucial—especially under a coach who, according to him, has brought out the best in everyone.
