Real Madrid will present their new head coach, Xabi Alonso, this Monday, May 26 at 12:30 p.m. at the Valdebebas training ground. Before that, he’ll officially sign his contract alongside club president Florentino Pérez. The deal ties him to the Spanish giants through June 30, 2028.

A new chapter after the Ancelotti era

Xabi Alonso’s arrival was officially confirmed by the club on Sunday, just a day after the emotional farewell to Italian boss Carlo Ancelotti at the Santiago Bernabéu. Ancelotti now takes on a new challenge as head coach of Brazil, after wrapping up his second successful spell in charge of Los Blancos.

“Beforehand, Real Madrid president Florentino Pérez will host Xabi Alonso for the official signing ceremony confirming his role as head coach for the next three seasons,” read the club’s statement. Right after, Alonso will speak to the media for the first time as Madrid’s new boss.

Kicking off a big week

This will be the first in a series of big unveilings this week at the club, with center-back Dean Huijsen’s presentation also expected soon. The start of the Xabi Alonso era signals a fresh page in Real Madrid’s recent history.
