Estêvão Shines Alongside Vinícius in Brazil’s 2–0 Victory Over Senegal
The Chelsea prodigy scored a stunning goal and established himself as the perfect partner for Vinícius Júnior and Rodrygo in Brazil’s win over Senegal in London.
Estêvão Steals the Spotlight at the Emirates Stadium
The brilliance of Estêvão was on full display once again. The 18-year-old Chelsea winger starred in Brazil’s 2–0 win over Senegal, scoring a spectacular goal that highlighted his rapid rise under coach Carlo Ancelotti.
The match, played at London’s Emirates Stadium —a traditional base for the “Seleção” ahead of major tournaments— served as another key preparation test for the 2026 World Cup, and the young star made the most of his opportunity.
Wearing the No. 20 jersey, Estêvão opened the scoring with a powerful first-time strike after a rebound from Casemiro, leaving goalkeeper Edouard Mendy with no chance. With that effort, the winger now has four goals for the senior national team and is positioning himself not just to make the World Cup squad but to fight for a starting role.
Casemiro and Rodrygo Complete a Perfect Night for Brazil
The second goal came just minutes later. From a set-piece routine, Rodrygo delivered a precise cross that Casemiro controlled and finished like a true striker. The goal stood after a VAR review, despite a brief scuffle between Kalidou Koulibaly and Vinícius Júnior following the celebration.

Ancelotti opted for an aggressive 4-2-4 system with Casemiro and Bruno Guimarães anchoring midfield, Rodrygo and Estêvão operating on the wings, and Vinícius Júnior alongside Matheus Cunha up front. The Italian coach’s setup paid off, giving the team both fluidity and attacking edge.
Though he didn’t score, Vinícius was among the liveliest players on the pitch, constantly driving at defenders, while Rodrygo provided creativity and calm in the final third.
Brazil dominated from start to finish, striking the post twice and surviving a major scare when Ederson gifted the ball to Ilman Ndiaye, who missed an open goal.
Under Ancelotti, Brazil now holds a record of four wins, two losses, and one draw. The “Seleção” will next face Tunisia on November 18 in Lille (France), while Senegal will take on Kenya the same day.
