Zlatan Ibrahimovic Harshly Criticizes Belgium After Their Poor World Cup and Questions Their Lack of Goals
Zlatan Ibrahimovic blasted Belgium after another goalless draw in the World Cup, questioning the poor offensive level and Garcia's lack of effectiveness.
Zlatan took aim at Belgium
Zlatan Ibrahimovic once again showed that he knows nothing about diplomacy when it comes to giving his opinion on soccer. The Swede, who has become a media figure since his retirement, analyzed Belgium's goalless draw against Iran on FOX Sports and didn't hold back.
Sharing a table with Thierry Henry, his former teammate at Barcelona, he delivered a scathing verdict: "In the first half I almost fell asleep, in the second half I fell asleep. There's not much to say about this game, another draw, so we'll see what happens in the next one. But yeah, I'll let my colleagues comment on it." With that irony, Zlatan made it clear that the performance put on by the Belgian team was insufficient and boring.
Problems in the debut
Criticism added to an atmosphere full of doubt. Belgium had already shown weaknesses in its debut against Egypt, and the draw with Iran deepened the feeling of stagnation. Rudi Garcia, their coach, tried to calm things down: "We didn't get the win, it's a shame, but now we have to stay calm in this situation and focus on the match against New Zealand." The Frenchman called for calm and reminded everyone that the team still depends on itself to advance in the World Cup.

Courtois's comments
Thibaut Courtois, a leader in goalkeeping, partly agreed with his coach, but was more direct about the problem: "In the end, what we lack are goals. Both in the match against Egypt and today against Iran, we had many opportunities, but we couldn't score, and that's what changes the games."
