World Cup Sparks Europe's Transfer Market
Outstanding performances at the 2026 FIFA World Cup have turned several rising stars into top transfer targets, with Europe's biggest clubs preparing for another busy summer window.
The FIFA World Cup has always been more than a battle for international glory. Every four years, the tournament becomes football's biggest showcase, allowing young talents to prove themselves on the world's biggest stage and dramatically increase their market value. The 2026 edition has once again produced a new generation of sought-after stars.
Moroccan midfielder Ayyoub Bouaddi has emerged as one of the tournament's biggest revelations. At just 18 years old, he led Morocco's impressive run to the quarterfinals and has attracted serious interest from Paris Saint-Germain, Manchester City, Manchester United and Liverpool. Lille reportedly values the youngster at around €80 million.
Morocco's success has also boosted the stock of other players. Azzedine Ounahi once again impressed on the international stage, while Ismael Saibari secured a major career move after Bayern Munich completed his signing during the World Cup.
Swiss midfielder Johan Manzambi has also become one of the hottest names on the market. The 20-year-old produced three goals and two assists during the group stage, drawing interest from Newcastle United before Aston Villa reportedly moved into pole position to secure his signature.
Meanwhile, Paris Saint-Germain appears to be leading the race for Ivory Coast winger Yan Diomandé. The 19-year-old built on an outstanding season with RB Leipzig by delivering another impressive World Cup campaign, pushing his valuation to more than €100 million.
His Leipzig teammate Antonio Nusa has also strengthened his reputation after Norway's strong tournament. The Norwegian winger is widely expected to make a move to the Premier League before the summer transfer window closes.
Just as previous World Cups launched the careers of stars such as James Rodríguez, Keylor Navas and Enzo Fernández, the 2026 tournament is once again reshaping Europe's transfer market and creating the next generation of elite footballers.
