World Cup final will have a new ball with changes designed to crown the next champion
A fresh look, the same performance, and a design created exclusively for the tournament's biggest matches
The 2026 FIFA World Cup has already been full of firsts. It is the first World Cup to be hosted across three different countries, the first time a stadium has hosted three opening matches in World Cup history, the first edition to feature 48 national teams, and now, for the first time, the tournament will introduce a different official match ball for its final stages.
FIFA and Adidas are preparing something special for the semifinals, the bronze final, and the World Cup final with a surprise few saw coming. The occasion called for a unique detail, leading Adidas to introduce a distinct final ball design instead of the traditional color update. Created specifically for football's biggest moments, the new ball marks another historic first for the competition.
A design inspired by football's biggest prize
Building on the Trionda Official Match Ball unveiled in October 2025, the Trionda Final keeps the same performance-focused construction while introducing a completely new look. The design takes inspiration from the road to football's ultimate prize, featuring a premium gold finish that pays tribute to the FIFA World Cup trophy over a black base for a more striking appearance.

Pink and red accents complete the design, adding energy while creating a visual connection to the boots worn on the pitch during the tournament's decisive matches.
The new ball also honors the cities hosting the final stage of the World Cup. Dallas, Atlanta, Miami, and New York New Jersey are prominently displayed across the main graphics, while the remaining host cities appear within the triangular design elements spread across the surface.

Not everyone appreciated that decision, as many fans pointed out that Canada and Mexico were left out of the main visual identity, giving the impression that the United States was the tournament's only host.
Same performance, new identity
Despite the visual overhaul, the Trionda Final keeps the exact same four-panel construction, panel shape, and surface texture as the original Trionda. That means players will experience the same speed, bounce, and overall feel they have already become familiar with throughout the tournament, although the new ball will ultimately be tested under the pressure of the biggest matches.
The Trionda Final also includes the latest version of Adidas Connected Ball Technology, providing real-time ball data to help match officials make faster decisions while delivering deeper insights into the game.
With a completely new identity while preserving the same on-field performance, the Trionda Final becomes another first for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, ensuring the tournament's biggest matches will be played with a ball designed exclusively for the moment that crowns the next world champion.
