Without playing, Neymar steals the show in Brazil vs. Morocco draw at the FIFA World Cup 2026
He was already ruled out of any minutes, yet that didn’t stop him from becoming a main talking point in New Jersey.
Neymar once again became the center of attention in Brazil’s 1–1 draw against Morocco at the FIFA World Cup 2026, played at the New Jersey/New York Stadium. On a Saturday night full of anticipation, the Brazilian star stole much of the spotlight, overshadowing even the players on the pitch despite remaining on the bench due to injury and with no chance of coming on.
THE PHOTOGRAPHERS FOLLOWED HIM
From the warm-up onwards, the cameras and lenses were almost entirely focused on Neymar. No movement went unnoticed, with photographers competing to capture every gesture from the forward, who was known in advance not to feature in the match.
In the stands, attention also drifted toward Tom Brady, but the overwhelming protagonist was the Brazilian, who turned the stadium into his personal stage and commanded all the attention as a front-row spectator on the Seleção bench.
NEYMAR’S NEW ROLE
Beyond his on-field influence, the veteran forward was constantly seen giving instructions, pointing out movements and correcting positioning, almost acting as an improvised assistant coach to Carlo Ancelotti.
His body language when speaking to Vinícius Jr. and Gabriel Guimarães at halftime reflected leadership, but also frustration as Brazil repeatedly wasted clear chances in front of goal.
The attacker did not hide his frustration at some of his teammates’ missed opportunities, gesturing and speaking with the bench, aware that the draw against Morocco left a bitter taste in Brazil’s World Cup opener in New Jersey. Will he return soon to help put Brazil back among the tournament favorites?
