Why Could England vs. Norway Be Delayed in the FIFA World Cup 2026 Quarterfinals?
The quarterfinal clash between the Three Lions and the Lions is set for 5:00 p.m. ET at Miami Stadium. Could kickoff be pushed back?
The highly anticipated FIFA World Cup 2026 quarterfinal between Norway and England at Miami Stadium on Saturday could face a delayed kickoff because of extreme weather conditions.
Unlike the matches in Mexico City and Philadelphia that were rescheduled, third quarterfinal could see its kickoff delayed because of the extreme heat expected in Miami.
According to the Daily Mail, an extreme heat wave is the main concern. Forecasts call for temperatures between 29°C and 32°C (84°F–90°F), with the feels-like temperature expected to reach 44°C (111°F) on the field at the Miami Dolphins' stadium.
Under current guidelines, the match could be postponed if temperatures exceed 28°C (82°F), in line with recommendations from FIFPRO, the global players' union.
As of now, no official announcement has been made, and kickoff remains scheduled for 5:00 p.m. ET.
