Vinicius’ Terrific Compliment to Lamine Yamal: “He Can Win the World Cup All by Himself”
Spain and Brazil arrive as favorites for the World Cup, but Vinícius surprised by highlighting Lamine Yamal as the key difference-maker.
An unexpected apology
Vinícius Jr, star of Real Madrid and a key player for the Brazilian national team, made a statement that quickly spread through the football world. In an interview with Caze TV, the 25-year-old forward praised Lamine Yamal without reservation, the young star of FC Barcelona and a great hope for Spain in the 2026 World Cup.
"Spain has Lamine Yamal, who is one of the best players in the world. He does incredible things on the field. He is a player who can win the World Cup on his own. He's one of those players you pay to watch play," he stated emphatically. Vinícius' recognition not only highlights the talent of the Spanish forward but also the perception that his impact can be decisive in a tournament of such magnitude.
Brazil and Spain as favorites
The World Cup kicks off on June 11, and both Spain and Brazil are among the favorite teams. The team coached by Carlo Ancelotti was placed in Group C along with Scotland, Haiti, and Morocco, with their debut scheduled for June 14 against the African team. In that scenario, Vinicius is set to emerge as a leader alongside Raphinha, while the role of Neymar is still to be defined.

The relevance of the young man from Barcelona
The praise for Yamal, who is only 18 years old, reflects how his emergence has changed the international landscape. For Spain, having a footballer who generates such respect among direct rivals is a plus that fuels the hope of lifting the Cup again. For Brazil, meanwhile, the challenge will be to demonstrate that its collective hierarchy can prevail even against individual talents of extraordinary stature.
