Tunisia’s Official Squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup
Tunisia Wants to Keep Making History
At Qatar 2022, Tunisia defeated the reigning world champion and came very close to qualifying for the knockout stage of a FIFA World Cup for the first time.
That November 30 in Al Rayyan became a historic date for Tunisian football forever. The Eagles of Carthage needed to defeat France and hope for a loss by Australia to advance to the next round. Against all odds, Tunisia achieved the biggest victory in its history by defeating Les Bleus 1-0 thanks to a goal from Wahbi Khazri.
Australia ended up winning its match and eliminated the Africans, but that performance proved that Tunisia could compete at the highest level. Now, heading into the 2026 World Cup, the objective is clear: take the next step and qualify for the knockout stage for the first time ever.

Head Coach
Sabri Lamouchi
Player to Watch
Without a doubt, the leader of this squad is captain Ellyes Skhiri. The Eintracht Frankfurt midfielder is the centerpiece of Sabri Lamouchi’s system and the most important figure in Tunisia’s midfield.
His ball recovery skills, tactical intelligence, and passing ability give balance to the team, while his powerful long-range shot provides a constant attacking threat.
Another notable name is Rani Khedira, younger brother of world champion Sami Khedira. With his participation in this World Cup, the Khedira brothers will join the Boateng brothers as siblings who have played in World Cups representing different national teams.
The group will not be easy for the Eagles of Carthage, but this generation arrives with experience, confidence, and the recent memory of defeating France at Qatar 2022.
Tunisia has become an uncomfortable opponent for any rival thanks to its tactical organization and defensive strength. Throughout the entire World Cup qualifying campaign, they did not concede a single goal, proving that breaking down their defensive structure will be extremely difficult.
The main mission for Sabri Lamouchi will be to secure the historic victory that finally allows Tunisia to advance past the group stage and reach the knockout rounds of the FIFA World Cup for the first time ever.
