Belgium wants to compete among the world’s elite again
The national team of Belgium has officially confirmed the 26 players who will represent the country at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which will take place in the United States, Mexico, and Canada and will feature 48 national teams for the first time in history.
French manager Rudi Garcia unveiled a squad that combines experience, talent, and several key figures from Belgium’s famous golden generation. With stars such as Kevin De Bruyne, Romelu Lukaku, and Thibaut Courtois, the Red Devils will attempt to seriously challenge for football’s biggest prize once again.
Belgium will compete in Group G alongside Egypt, Iran, and New Zealand, where they enter as favorites to advance to the knockout stage. Still, the pressure will be enormous for a team that continues dreaming of winning the first World Cup in its history.

Player To Watch
Although Belgium still features legendary stars such as Kevin De Bruyne and Romelu Lukaku, the player who could truly make the difference at this World Cup is Jérémy Doku. The Manchester City winger arrives in the best form of his career thanks to his pace, dribbling ability, and constant threat in one-on-one situations.
At only 24 years old, Doku represents the present and future of Belgian football. After multiple generations came painfully close to glory, Belgium hopes the explosive winger can become the superstar capable of leading a new era for the Red Devils.
Belgium is betting on a new generation
One of the most interesting aspects of this squad is the heavy presence of players born between 2001 and 2002, led by names such as Charles De Ketelaere, Amadou Onana, Nicolas Raskin, and of course Doku.
Rudi Garcia’s plan is to build a competitive transition without completely moving away from the historic leaders of the dressing room. That is why experienced stars like Courtois, De Bruyne, and Lukaku will continue playing a fundamental role within the squad.
For more than a decade, Belgium has been considered one of the most talented national teams on the planet, yet the country has never managed to transform that golden generation into a major international title. Now, with several stars likely playing in their final World Cup, the pressure will be greater than ever.
With experience, attacking talent, and multiple players competing at the highest level in Europe, Belgium will attempt to finally take the final step and seriously challenge for the title at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
