Norway's Possible Lineup to Face England in the 2026 FIFA World Cup Quarterfinals
After stunning Brazil in one of the biggest upsets of the tournament, Norway is expected to stick with its winning formula as it prepares to face England for a place in the World Cup semifinals.
Norway looks to continue its remarkable World Cup run
Norway has emerged as one of the biggest surprises of the 2026 FIFA World Cup after eliminating Brazil with a memorable 2-1 victory in the Round of 16.
Now, Ståle Solbakken's side will attempt to pull off another upset when it faces England in the quarterfinals at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami, with a place in the final four on the line.
Following such an impressive performance against the five-time world champions, there is little expectation of significant changes to the lineup that carried Norway this far.
Haaland and Ødegaard remain Norway's biggest weapons
All eyes will once again be on Erling Haaland after the striker scored twice against Brazil to continue his outstanding World Cup campaign.
Alongside him, Alexander Sørloth is expected to lead the line, while Antonio Nusa should retain his place on the left wing, giving Norway pace and creativity on the counterattack.
Captain Martin Ødegaard will continue to orchestrate play from midfield, serving as the team's creative engine and linking defense with attack.

A disciplined defense will be crucial
Norway's victory over Brazil was built not only on clinical finishing but also on an organized defensive performance.
Goalkeeper Ørjan Nyland is expected to remain between the posts behind a back four featuring Kristoffer Ajer, David Møller Wolfe, Marcus Holmgren Pedersen and Torbjørn Heggem.
In midfield, Patrick Berg and Sander Berge will be tasked with protecting the defense while attempting to disrupt England's talented midfield led by Jude Bellingham and Declan Rice.
Solbakken is expected to trust the same group
The win over Brazil strengthened Solbakken's confidence in a team that has grown throughout the tournament.
While England enters the match as the favorite on paper, Norway has already shown it can compete with—and defeat—one of the world's traditional football powers.
With Haaland in outstanding form and a squad full of belief, Norway will look to continue its dream run and book a historic place in the World Cup semifinals.
