Norway's head coach sends a warning to Carlo Ancelotti and Brazil ahead of their 2026 FIFA World Cup clash
Ståle Solbakken added extra spice to the 2026 World Cup showdown between Norway and Brazil by insisting his team will not change its style of play despite the challenge posed by Carlo Ancelotti's side. The Norwegian coach made it clear they will compete fearlessly for a place in the quarterfinals.
Solbakken is not afraid of Brazil
Norway is already focused on one of the most attractive matches of the Round of 16 at the 2026 FIFA World Cup. After eliminating Ivory Coast, the Scandinavian side will face Brazil, led by Carlo Ancelotti, and head coach Ståle Solbakken made it clear that he has no intention of changing his team’s identity because of the prestige of the opponent.
The Norwegian manager said his team has reached this stage by staying true to its footballing philosophy, and he believes that same approach gives them the best chance of upsetting one of the tournament favorites.
Brazil arrives with momentum under Ancelotti
On the other side will be a Brazilian team coming off a dramatic comeback victory over Japan and one that is gradually taking on the identity of Carlo Ancelotti.
With stars such as Vinícius Júnior, Casemiro, Neymar, and Gabriel Martinelli, Brazil will look to use its experience to book a place in the semifinals. However, Solbakken's comments make it clear that Norway has no intention of playing a secondary role and promises to fight from the opening whistle.
