Neymar Shuts Down Rumors and Speaks About Possible Injury Ahead of the World Cup
Just days before the start of the 2026 World Cup, Neymar moved to calm concerns about his physical condition. The Santos forward insisted that his muscle discomfort is not serious and made it clear that he is ready to lead Brazil on football’s biggest stage.
Concern surrounding Neymar had started to grow in Brazil following recent reports about physical discomfort suffered while playing for Santos, but the forward himself quickly eased tensions before joining the Brazilian national team camp ahead of the 2026 World Cup.
The Brazilian star was present at Vila Belmiro during Santos’ victory over Deportivo Cuenca in the Copa Sudamericana, and as expected, much of the attention focused on his physical condition. Questions regarding the calf edema he recently suffered surfaced immediately, although Neymar responded calmly and confidently.
When asked about how he was feeling physically, the attacker directly stated that everything was “intact,” making it clear that he does not believe there is any serious issue that could jeopardize his participation with Brazil at the World Cup.
Brazil Handling the Situation Carefully
Although Neymar has publicly shown confidence, Brazil’s coaching staff still plans to carefully manage the player’s physical workload. The staff led by Carlo Ancelotti does not want to take unnecessary risks with the Seleção’s biggest star.
According to reports, Neymar will follow a specialized training program at Granja Comary, where the medical department will constantly monitor the evolution of the muscle issue in order to avoid any setbacks before Brazil’s World Cup debut.
Neymar’s return to the national team has become one of the biggest storylines ahead of the tournament. After dealing with multiple injuries and long stretches away from his best form, the legendary forward once again appears as one of Brazil’s main hopes heading into the competition.
Neymar Focused on Morocco Opener
So far this season, the forward has registered six goals and four assists with Santos, showing flashes of the talent that convinced Ancelotti to include him in the final squad.
Brazil will play warm-up friendlies against Panama and Egypt before officially opening their World Cup campaign against Morocco on June 13. Until then, all eyes will remain on Neymar and his physical condition.
For now, however, the Brazilian star made one thing very clear: he has no intention of fueling more rumors and remains fully focused on helping Brazil chase its sixth World Cup title.
