The three host nations of the 2026 FIFA World Cup are all still alive in the tournament. Mexico, the United States and Canada have booked their places in the Round of 16, a feat that not only keeps the co-hosts' title hopes alive but also matches the best performance ever achieved by CONCACAF
The three host nations of the 2026 FIFA World Cup are all still alive in the tournament. Mexico, the United States and Canada have booked their places in the Round of 16, a feat that not only keeps the co-hosts' title hopes alive but also matches the best performance ever achieved by CONCACAF at a single World Cup.
The Co-Hosts Match a Historic CONCACAF Record
By reaching the Round of 16, Mexico, the United States and Canada have equaled the highest number of CONCACAF teams ever to reach that stage of a FIFA World Cup.
The confederation previously achieved the feat at Brazil 2014, when Mexico, the United States and Costa Rica all advanced to the knockout rounds.
Twelve years later, the three co-hosts have matched that milestone and continue flying the flag for CONCACAF.

Round of 16 Opponents Confirmed
All three nations now know their opponents in the Round of 16.
Mexico will face England in one of the standout knockout ties after Harry Kane inspired the Three Lions to qualification.
Meanwhile, Canada will take on Morocco, which advanced after eliminating the Netherlands, while the United States will meet Belgium, fresh off a dramatic comeback victory over Senegal.
The three co-hosts will now attempt to go one step further and increase CONCACAF's representation among the final eight teams of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
