France Possible Lineup Against Morocco In The 2026 FIFA World Cup Quarterfinals
France is not expected to make major changes for its World Cup quarterfinal against Morocco, with Didier Deschamps set to rely on the same core that has powered Les Bleus through the tournament.
France eyes another step toward World Cup glory
France enters Thursday's quarterfinal as one of the favorites to win the 2026 FIFA World Cup, but standing in its way is a confident Morocco side eager to make history once again.
The matchup at Gillette Stadium in Boston also brings back memories of the 2022 World Cup semifinal, when France ended Morocco's remarkable run in Qatar. This time, another place in the semifinals is up for grabs.
After winning each of its first five matches, Les Bleus arrive with momentum and confidence as they continue their pursuit of a third World Cup title.
Deschamps expected to reward continuity
Manager Didier Deschamps has little reason to alter a lineup that has delivered throughout the tournament.
France advanced to the quarterfinals by defeating Paraguay 1-0, with Kylian Mbappé converting the decisive penalty in the second half.
Ahead of the Morocco clash, Mbappé acknowledged that France expects a physical battle, but the squad remains confident after becoming the first French team ever to win its opening five matches at a World Cup.
With no significant injury concerns, Deschamps is widely expected to stick with the same starting XI.
Olise expected to keep his place
One of the talking points before the quarterfinal has been Michael Olise.
Following FIFA's decision to overturn Folarin Balogun's suspension before the United States faced Belgium, the French Football Federation requested that Olise's yellow card against Paraguay also be rescinded.
Regardless of FIFA's response, Olise is expected to remain in the starting lineup alongside Ousmane Dembélé and Bradley Barcola, forming the attacking line behind Mbappé.
Predicted France lineup vs Morocco
France is expected to line up in Deschamps' preferred 4-2-3-1 formation, combining defensive stability with one of the tournament's most explosive attacks.
Predicted XI (4-2-3-1):
Mike Maignan; Jules Koundé, Dayot Upamecano, William Saliba, Lucas Digne; Manu Koné, Adrien Rabiot; Michael Olise, Ousmane Dembélé, Bradley Barcola; Kylian Mbappé.
Having won every match so far, France will look to extend its perfect World Cup record and book another trip to the semifinals with a victory over Morocco.
