Ed Sheeran Drops In on England Camp Ahead of Norway World Cup Clash
The British music star gave England's players a private acoustic performance before their World Cup quarterfinal and didn't shy away from predicting who will lift the trophy.
A familiar face returns to England's camp
As England prepares for one of its biggest matches of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, the Three Lions welcomed a special guest to their training base in Kansas City.
Ed Sheeran paid another visit to the squad, treating players and staff to an intimate acoustic performance at the team's hotel before Saturday's quarterfinal against Norway.
Armed with nothing more than his guitar, Sheeran performed a stripped-down version of Castle on the Hill, creating a relaxed atmosphere before England shifts its full attention to knockout football.
How a friendship with Harry Kane started it all
Sheeran's appearances around the England national team have become something of a tournament tradition.
The relationship dates back to 2021, when captain Harry Kane invited the singer to spend time with the squad during an international tournament.
Since then, Sheeran has remained a regular visitor whenever England competes on the biggest stage, building a close bond with many of the players.
Speaking about the tradition, the singer said returning to camp has always felt natural because of the connection he developed with the squad from that very first visit.

Sheeran backs England to reach the final
Beyond entertaining the players, Sheeran also offered his prediction for how the remainder of the tournament will unfold.
The Grammy Award winner believes England has what it takes to reach the World Cup Final, where he expects the Three Lions to face France in what he believes would be a blockbuster showdown.
And if England gets there, Sheeran likes its chances.
While acknowledging that finals are impossible to predict, he said he believes this England team can go all the way and lift the trophy.
Norway stands between England and the semifinals
For now, however, England's only focus is Saturday's meeting with Norway in Miami.
Manager Thomas Tuchel is still working through a few selection decisions after Jarell Quansah was sent off against Mexico, while Jordan Henderson continues to recover from the wrist injury he suffered during the post-match celebrations.
With team morale boosted by Sheeran's visit, England will hope the positive energy carries onto the pitch as it looks to book a place in the final four of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
