Could England vs Norway be delayed? Extreme heat threatens World Cup quarterfinal
England's FIFA World Cup 2026 quarterfinal against Norway could face a delayed kickoff because of the extreme weather forecast for Miami on Saturday.
England's FIFA World Cup 2026 quarterfinal against Norway could face a delayed kickoff because of the extreme weather forecast for Miami on Saturday.
According to the Daily Mail, dangerous heat and humidity levels could affect both players and supporters, raising the possibility that the match may not start as originally scheduled.
How hot will it be in Miami?
Kickoff is scheduled for 5:00 p.m. ET, but weather forecasts indicate extremely challenging conditions.
Temperatures are expected to range between 29°C and 32°C (84°F-90°F), with the heat index reaching as high as 44°C (111°F) because of the humidity.
Local authorities have already issued a public warning.
"High temperatures and humidity can increase the risk of heat-related illnesses. Stay hydrated, wear lightweight clothing, limit outdoor activities during the hottest part of the day, and spend time in air-conditioned spaces whenever possible. Stay informed," the City of Miami posted on its official X account.

The World Cup has already seen weather delays
It would not be the first time weather has disrupted the FIFA World Cup 2026 schedule.
Earlier in the tournament, several matches experienced lightning and severe weather delays, with organizers following established safety protocols for outdoor sporting events in the United States.
Now, extreme heat has emerged as the latest concern and could force officials to delay kickoff if conditions are deemed unsafe for players, staff and fans.
As of now, FIFA has not announced any schedule changes for the England vs Norway quarterfinal.
