The Minnesota United midfielder remains one of Colombia’s biggest football icons, but concerns remain regarding his lack of playing time.

James has played fewer than 200 minutes in MLS, recording six appearances and two assists, along with two US Open Cup matches.

Lorenzo confirms special plan for James

Lorenzo revealed that the coaching staff are working individually with the former Real Madrid star.

“James has always needed rhythm through playing time”.

The coach explained that James is following a special physical training program.

“He’s working separately and we gave him a specific plan with the fitness staff”.

Lorenzo also stressed how important James remains for Colombia.

“He’s a very important player for us”.

Durán and Kevin Mier also under scrutiny

Jhon Durán remains a controversial figure following his move to Zenit Saint Petersburg and reports of a supposed disagreement with Lorenzo during World Cup qualifying.

Although both James and Lorenzo denied those reports, the striker continues to generate debate.
