Belgium begins a new World Cup journey

The Belgium national team will kick off its 2026 FIFA World Cup campaign when it faces Egypt in the opening match of Group G.

The Red Devils enter the tournament amid a new generation. While many of the stars from the golden era are gone, Belgium still boasts world-class leaders such as Kevin De Bruyne and Thibaut Courtois.

On paper, Belgium is considered the favorite to top a group that also includes Iran and New Zealand.

A new generation looking to deliver

Rudi Garcia's side arrives at the World Cup after a strong preparation period that included victories over Croatia and Tunisia.

Alongside the experience of Courtois and De Bruyne, Belgium will rely on a new generation led by Leandro Trossard, Amadou Onana, Dodi Lukebakio, and Charles De Ketelaere, players expected to carry the team into the next era.
