Attempted Break-In at Lamine Yamal's Home Hours After Spain Reached the World Cup Final
Just hours after Spain secured its place in the World Cup Final, two masked men allegedly tried to break into Lamine Yamal's home. His private security team spotted the suspects before they could get inside, and police are now investigating the incident.
Tense Hours for Lamine Yamal After Spain Reaches the World Cup Final
Spain's qualification for the FIFA World Cup Final sparked celebrations across the country, but for Lamine Yamal, the excitement was quickly overshadowed by a frightening incident away from the pitch. Just hours after helping Spain defeat France, two intruders allegedly attempted to break into the young star's home in Esplugues de Llobregat, only to be stopped before gaining access.
According to La Vanguardia, the incident took place at around 4 a.m., when Yamal's private security team detected suspicious activity through the property's surveillance cameras. The footage reportedly showed two masked individuals climbing one of the walls surrounding the residence.
Once the suspects realized they had been spotted, they immediately climbed back down and fled the scene without entering the property. The quick response from the security staff prevented the situation from escalating and allowed authorities to be notified immediately.
Surveillance Cameras and Private Security Played a Crucial Role
The home's security system proved to be the key factor in preventing the attempted burglary. According to the available information, the surveillance cameras captured both suspects clearly: one dressed entirely in black and the other wearing gray clothing, with both covering their faces using balaclavas.
After receiving the alert, officers from the Mossos d'Esquadra arrived at the residence to assess the situation. The case has since been taken over by the Criminal Investigation Division (DIC), which is investigating the incident as an attempted aggravated burglary.
At this stage, no arrests have been announced, and authorities have not identified the individuals involved. However, the security footage could become a crucial piece of evidence as investigators work to determine who was behind the failed break-in.
Investigators Examine Possible Connection to Other Burglaries
One of the most striking aspects of the case is that at least two other attempted burglaries were reported in the same upscale residential area of Esplugues de Llobregat during the very same night.
So far, authorities have not confirmed whether the same suspects were responsible for all of the incidents or whether the timing was simply a coincidence. That possibility remains one of the main lines of investigation.
Lamine Yamal's residence is also far from anonymous. The property is well known in Barcelona because it previously belonged to Gerard Piqué and Shakira, making it one of the city's most recognizable luxury homes.
The Tension Couldn't Change Lamine's Approach
In this case, the story had a happy ending thanks to the immediate action taken by the staff responsible for protecting the residence. However, the incident makes it clear that success on the field also brings new risks off the field.
While the investigation continues under the Catalan authorities, Lamine Yamal will be able to focus his attention on the biggest challenge of his career so far: playing in a World Cup final with Spain.
